Dr. Aweke Mitku, one of SSACB’s esteemed fellows, along with Prof. Latifat Ibisomi, participated in the 30th International Population Conference (IPC2025), successfully held in Brisbane, Australia, from 13 to 18 July 2025. The conference brought together leading experts and professionals from around the world to share the latest research, collaborate on pressing population issues, and engage in professional development through a wide range of workshops and meetings.
As the first in-person IPC since 2017, the event celebrated cultural diversity and provided a vital platform for global dialogue on population dynamics and change. Hosted at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the conference took full advantage of the venue’s world-class facilities and the city’s vibrant atmosphere. Delegates also had the opportunity to explore Brisbane’s unique natural surroundings and cultural attractions, which added to the richness of the overall experience.
IPC2025 served as a catalyst for continued international collaboration and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing the global commitment to addressing population challenges through research, innovation, and evidence-based policymaking.
